Motorcycle Technology - Specialty Options

Choose from one of our great specialty options for the Motorcycle Technology core.

Asian Concentration

The Asian Motorcycle Technology program is designed to provide students with a technical skill set and applied logical diagnostics approach to diagnose, service, and repair modern motorcycles. Students, after completion of their core training then proceed into the Asian concentration. The core training areas, coupled with a student selected area of specialty, prepares the graduate for employment as an entry level motorcycle technician.

Core classes include:

  • Asian Honda
  • Asian Kawasaki
  • Asian Suzuki
  • Asian Yamaha

This concentration will allow the student to build upon the knowledge and skills of the core and to apply them to the diagnosis, service, and repair of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha motorcycles.

European Concentration

The European Concentration provides students with a solid understanding of working with BMW, Ducati and Triumph motorcycles. Students in the European Motorcycle concentration will receive hands-on education in:

Ducati Motorcycle Training

This concentration provides the technical information required for specialization in Ducati motorcycle repairs. Class instruction includes:

  • Ducati Engine
  • Ducati Ancillary Components
  • Ducati Electrical Systems
  • Ducati Frame and Suspension
  • Ducati Transmissions and Drive
  • Ducati Lubrication System
  • Ducati Fuel Systems
  • Ducati Management

BMW Motorcycle Training

This concentration also provides the technical information required for specialization in BMW motorcycle repairs. This training also applies towards students being awarded BMW Certified Technician status. Students will study:

  • BMW Engine Section
  • BMW Electrical Systems
  • BMW Frame and Suspension
  • BMW Transmissions and Drive
  • BMW Fuel Systems
  • BMW Related Information
  • BMW Management Section

Triumph Motorcycle Training

This concentration emphasizes the use of information resources, sophisticated test equipment and manufacture approved diagnostic and repair procedures as they relate to Triumph motorcycles. Training applies towards students being awarded Triumph Entry Level Certification training status. Students will study:

  • Triumph Models
  • Information Systems
  • Engine Tuning
  • Power Train
  • Chassis
  • Fluid Systems
  • Engines
  • Power Train
  • Suspension

Harley Davidson Concentration

The Motorcycle Technology program is designed to provide students with a technical skill set and applied logical diagnostics approach to diagnose, service, and repair modern motorcycles.

After completion of their core motorcycle repair training, students can proceed into the Harley-Davidson concentration. The Harley-Davidson concentration classes include:

  • Harley-Davidson Engines
  • Harley-Davidson Chassis
  • Harley-Davidson Engine Controls

The Harley-Davidson courses emphasize the disassembly, inspection, and assembly of the Big Twins, and V-Rod engines. Students will perform the necessary measurements and adjustments for proper engine operation.

This concentration will allow the student to build upon the knowledge and skills of the core and to apply them to the diagnosis, service, and repair of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Motorcycle Technology Program

WyoTech is now offering an additional program, Off-Road Power concentration, for students looking to get extra training in the Motorcycle Technology Program.  Your training will consist of the usual training program requirements, and upon successful completion, you'll have the option of taking the Off-Road Power Concentration.

Off-Road Power Concentration

1. Mechanical Systems and PWC-This course introduces students to information resources, sophisticated test equipment, manufacturer approved diagnostics, and repair procedures for both the mechanical aspects of all-terrain vehicles (ATV) and all aspects of personal watercraft.

2. Electrical Systems and Snowmobiles-This course introduces our student to informational resources, sophisticated test equipment, manufacturer approved diagnostics, and repair procedures for fuel and electrical related issues on all-terrain vehicles (ATV) and all aspects of snowmobile repair.
